Grant Process
We do our best to support every grant request we receive. All of the funds we raise in a given year get allocated to grant requests that support athletics, clubs, activities and fine arts, plus senior scholarships. Each year, LT Athletics and Activities Directors send out the Boosters Grant application in early April. We review all grant requests at our April and May board meetings and vote on how to allocate funds based on those requests. We received requests ranging from $200 to $10,000 this past year. When we discuss how to allocate the funds raised, we consider many factors such as:  1) how much we have granted the group in the recent past; 2) how the group has contributed to Boosters fundraising events (gold cards, blue cards, restaurant cards and volunteering for booster sales); 3) how critical the funds are to their group; and 4) other sources of funds available.

Student Volunteers for Booster Sales
Our volunteer coordinator, Francesca Smith, will reach out to coaches and other group leaders in July/August to solicit help with set-up and break down for our Booster sales. The majority of our sales are between August and December and booster wear needs to get transported back and forth quite a bit between storage and the site of the sale – the school and the football stadium or between campuses – and then needs to get set-up and put away and back in storage after each sale. Student help with set-up or break down helps a lot!

All parents and students can volunteer to help with Booster sales throughout the year via SignUpGenius. Booster Wear sales are on our calendar and SignUpGenius links are added as the sale approaches.

Stay Connected!
As you complete your on-line registration/payments for 2018-2019, don’t forget to purchase your Boosters membership! And, be sure to get connected to Boosters: please follow, like, share, retweet and consider volunteering!

LTHS Boosters Supports Peaceable Schools Initiative

Lyons Township High School’s main entrance wall at South Campus has a new face lift thanks to a new spirited mural. The school motto, “Vita Plena – The quest for the fulfilling life,” is the first thing students and visitors see when entering South Campus. The project evolved out of response to students’ inquiries during a Peaceable Schools Initiative (PSI) forum.
