Shark Tank Business Project

“School is boring.” There is no place for that statement when teachers are creative, engaging and promote genuine learning. But how do teachers make their classes the opposite of boring? Business educator, Krista Wilcox, challenged her Lyons Township High School students in participating in the Shark Tank project, which is based on the ABC TV show “Shark Tank”. While no money is actually awarded from any of the investors, students acquire important business knowledge and skills throughout the process.

One of the Sharks in the 2014-2015 Shark Tank Project was our very own Booster President, Mike Bozzi. The student winners that Shark Bozzi invested in chose to design new booster wear apparel for the 2015-2016 school year. They used their business savviness and commitment to LT to create items that would appeal to the heart and spirit of all LTHS students. Shark Bozzi invested in two products, a headband and socks, as he envisioned the LT student buyers to have a frenzy over these new additions to the LT spirit line. This fall, the Boosters were proud to debut these creative and inspired items that will surely become popular with students and supporters!

The socks were created by Erasmo Garcia, Class of 2017, and John Fitzgerald, Class of 2017.
The headband was created by Noah Niego, Class of 2017, and Tim Curley, Class of 2018.
